Print Gallery Showings

Our members have the opportunity to exhibit their prints in several local venues throughout the year. Our three ongoing exhibits at NSMC Union Hospital, 500 Lynnfield St., Lynn (Rte 129) are a Community Service project. Union Hospital is the Lynn Campus of the North Shore Medical Center. Prints are changed at varying intervals depending on the location of the exhibit.

Our other main location for exhibiting prints is at Grosvenor Park Gallery at Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Vinnin Square, on the Swampscott/Marblehead/Salem line in Salem. This is an Association month-long exhibit and a public opening is held usually on the first weekend of the exhibit. Our 2017 exhibit opened on March 5, 2017 with over 50 people in attendance. The exhibit will remain open until the end of March.

Please consider exhibiting your work in any of these exhibits.

  • The exhibit lasts for 2-3 months

The member is responsible for taking the prints to the hospital and picking them up there. The time will be coordinated by Marilyn Cloran, in cooperation with the person taking down their exhibit and the person putting up their exhibit. Rick Cloran will hang the exhibit at that time.

Grosvenor Park Gallery, Loring Hills Ave., Salem (Vinnin Square). This is a beautiful gallery in the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center. The requirements for this exhibit are a max of 2 framed prints with a wire across the back. The max size is 20x24 inches. You will also have an opportunity to sell your prints. Images are needed by early January to create the postcard and poster for publicity. The prints themselves are due the end of February.

Submitting framed prints for the Grosvenor exhibit

Marilyn and Rick Cloran collect the framed prints for the club exhibits at the club and transport them to the exhibit location and back. Because of this, the prints must be packaged so as not to get damaged. The preferred packaging is in a zipped portfolio at least 20x26 inches which can hold at least two framed prints. These portfolios may be available at AC Moore’s or Ocean St. Job Lots at a reasonable price when there is a sale or coupon available. Otherwise prints should be securely wrapped with cardboard or in a box. Pieces of bubble wrap taped together are not suitable as they are very difficult to use when the prints are repackaged for the return trip.

The prints will be collected at the February 27, 2017 meeting.

They may also be brought directly to the Gallery on Friday, March 3 between 9 and 10 am.
