CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All phases of the exhibition will be conducted in accordance with the recommended practices of the Photographic Society of America, the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique 2015/043, and the Canadian Association for Photographic Art.

There is no restriction on subject matter. You may enter 4 digital images per entrant.  Our acceptance rate is normally 30-35%.  GLPA takes great pride in reproducing a high quality color catalog approximately 60 pages long with over 32 color reproductions, in printed form, to be air mailed to all entrants.  There is no electronic version online.

A PSA Gold Medal will be awarded by the judges for the “Best of Show” and a PSA Silver Medal will be awarded for the “Best Creative” digital image, plus two PSA Bronze Medals, and three PSA Honor awards.  Creative photography may be defined as “altered reality.” In addition, the judges will award three FIAP medals, Gold, Silver and Bronze, and six FIAP Honor Awards.

Entries must originate as photographs (image/captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally.  By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own (aliases are not permitted). The entrant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.  This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright.  Images may be altered, either electronically or otherwise, by the maker. Artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates subject to divisional restrictions. All final work must be on photographic film, or on electronic file, or on photographic or electronic print material, mounting excepted.  Entrants who indicate that their images may not be reproduced or used “will not be eligible for awards: or inclusion in audio-visuals of the exhibition “and could be subject to disqualification” by the exhibition sponsors.

Each image must have a unique title. Once an image has been accepted in Greater Lynn, or another PSA Recognized exhibition, that same image, or a like “in camera” or a “reproduction” duplicate of that image: may not be re-entered in any section of the same Division Star Ratings class in that exhibition regardless of format, media or title. Nor may it be re-titled for resubmission in Greater Lynn or any other PSA recognized exhibition. Words such as “Untitled” and “No title” are not acceptable as part or all of an image’s title, nor are camera capture filenames or titles consisting of only numbers.

The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions.

There are no restrictions as to subject matter except as outlined in the rules and definitions of specific sections, or specified by law in the country where the exhibition is held.

No title or identification of the maker shall be visible anywhere on the face of an image, print mat or mount entered in a PSA Recognized exhibition. All entrants must provide their name and country data exactly the same in each PSA recognized exhibition they enter to receive proper credit.

This is a PSA PID-Color exhibition.  Acceptances for PSA star ratings are eligible in the PID-Color.  An entrant’s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging.  For FIAP: this is an Open color exhibition.

  • For foreign club entrants, choose your club from the pulldown menu. You may pay your individual entry fees via PayPal ($12) or you may give your entry fees to your club coordinator who will then pay the club's total entry fees to Greater Lynn in one payment via PayPal or cash.  All catalogs will be mailed to your club coordinator.
  • For USA club entrants, $7 choose your club from the pulldown menu, and your club coordinator name and email address will automatically be displayed. All entrants must pay individual entry fees on their own, via PayPal, or check/cash mailed to the Exhibition Chairman. All USA club entrants will have the catalogs mailed directly to them.  Your coordinator will still receive an email when you enter and will receive the club report, CDs and club information.

Follow these instructions on preparing and naming images. The projector is set for 1024 x 768 pixels. Your image dimensions should be within these numbers but does not necessarily need to match this ratio. Normally, you will set the width at 1024 for horizontal images, and set the height at 768 for vertical images. By using the "Constrain Proportions" option, you only need to set one dimension, and your image editing software will make the appropriate setting for the other dimension, and it may not be the number indicated here. For example, you may set your width to 1024, and using "Constrain Proportions," the height dimension may be set at 681. This will project correctly. Resolution should be set at 200 for purposes of reproduction in our color catalog. Your files should be saved as a JPEG file. Do not use further compression. File size cannot exceed 2M, per file.

For CD entries (CDs will not be returned), Naming your images: Please use your name in the file names, as well as the projection sequence number (surname_firstname_seq#). For example, your four submissions on a CD may look like this: Mosser_Susan_1.jpg .

The corresponding number on the entry form should contain the title of the image—not the file name (your name).
