After a 2 year break The Photographic Society of Rhode Island held their International Exhibition competition again and we will have the first showing of the accepted images at GLPA. This beautiful showcase will be a wonderful arrangement of images set to music with every photographic subject known to photographers worldwide including portraits, landscapes, sports, creative, still life’s, photo- journalism and everything In between.

The exhibition was judged April 20, 2019 in Rhode Island and 37 Greater Lynn Members entered. For those of you who were lucky enough to score 12 points or more with your image or images, they are now considered accepted and will be a part of the show. The judging panel consisted of Dan Charbonnet, HonPSA, EPSA, MNEC of Greater Lynn, Ed McGuirk and Mike DiStefano, APSA, HonNEC of the Photographic Society of Rhode Island.

The exhibition had 264 entrants from 17 countries and 19 states including the USA, for a total of 1049 images. They also accepted slides for the competition but I do not have a breakdown on how many slide entries they received. They gave a medal for best club and had 15 clubs competing. Greater Lynn tied for first place with Gateway Camera Club of Framingham, Ma with 84 points; Nashoba Valley of Westford, MA came in second with 79 points; and third place was also a tie with 78 points between Seacoast, Portsmouth, MA and Stony Brook, Wrentham, MA.
