Do you enjoy getting outdoors and photographing the landscape? Would you like to share your images with others in a supportive, informal conversation? Inspire and be inspired? To discuss what “landscape photography” means to you and others? To why you enjoy it? (Or struggle with it?)
The Landscape Group is for photographers of all skills who especially enjoy making images of the great outdoors. We will meet five times, on the second Thursday of October, November, January, February and March, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.
Each session we will look at and discuss some works by three photographers who identify as “landscape photographers”. In addition, by the Friday before you may send me two to four images you wish to share, to showcase, or to ask for suggestions, and I will incorporate them into a showcase presentation for all to discuss in a supportive and constructive environment. It is not necessary to submit images to attend the meetings.
We will also solicit topics for discussion at the next session. Some possible topics might include:
- What is landscape photography to you?
- Why shoot landscapes?
- Hand of man? Or not?
- Seize the moment vs. plan and hope
- Challenges and possibilities
- Chasing the light
- Vistas, details, and intimacy in the landscape
And, of course, anything else of interest to members.
Mark Bargen (at the tender age of 70) picked up a camera, went outdoors, and discovered his passion for capturing and portraying moments of awe looking at the world outdoors. He may be reached with questions or suggestions at: fabiendenry@verizon.net
