One of the most common comments by a judge or presenter is that we make some adjustment to an image and then mask it in or out depending on the adjustment and area effected. As common as that is, one of the least understood aspects of Photoshop and Elements is masking. In this program Rick will explore the basics of what a mask is, how to make one, how to adjust one, and how you can use them to gain more control over your post capture processing. The program will stay in the ‘shallow end of the pool’ and deal with the fundamentals behind using masks. It will not explore more advanced concepts such as channel or luminosity masking.

If you are new to masking this is the program that can get you started. Even if you are using masks currently, the program can serve as a good refresher on those fundamentals we all seem to forget.
