"Three GLPA Masters-You Hear the Names, Now Meet the Photographers-Image by Jim Brady, MNEC"
by James Brady, MNEC-MA, Frank Forward-FL & NH - Michael Goodman, MNEC-NH
Monday, September 30, 7:30 PMThis presentation is another entertaining night along with a little bit of teaching combined. You hear us announce these three Masters Class Competitors names quite a lot at the club, for winning many of the monthly and end of year awards as well as many NECCC and PSA Interclub awards but you don’t get to see or meet them as they, for various reasons such as Florida in the winter, live in NH, or many family obligations make it difficult for them to get to the club. For that reason, along with the fact that the membership requested we have more entertaining presentations and not as many heavy teaching programs, I decided to ask them to share an hour and talk about their winning images and what made them a winning image. This will be a chance for you to meet them and get to know them.
Our three speakers are all long-time members of the club-
James Brady, MNEC-MA
Jim’s photographic journey started in the 1960s in the red light-Dektol environs of the film darkroom. He states he is self-taught and still learning and throughout his journey he strives to stay abreast of the latest advances in photography. Jim had the privilege of working as the photographer and sports editor of the weekly North Conway newspaper. His images have found their way into numerous newspapers, NH Profiles magazine, and even National Geographic. He enjoys action photography, preferring the excitement of motorsports, equestrian events, and ballet. He states, he doesn’t have the patience for nature photography and has just recently dipped his toes into the waters of landscape subjects. Jim enjoys portraiture and the creative opportunities available with studio lighting. He belongs to three camera clubs and competes fairly successfully in all of them along with his images being used for PSA and NECCC Interclub. The New England Camera Club Council awarded him Master-MNEC for all he has contributed to the annual Photography Conference as a member of the model committee for several years and his work for the New England photographic community. He states he has been very fortunate to find himself in the company of, and be challenged to compete against, some of the best New England photographers.Frank Forward-NH and Florida
